On September 8, President Trump signed into law H.R. 601 which will keep the U.S. federal government open through December 8, 2017.  As a result, the EB-5 Regional Center Program is now extended until such date without any changes.

We expect that the coming months will see Congressional action to reach consensus legislation to reform the EB-5 Regional Center Program, as the U.S. Congress turns its attention to immigration issues during this time.  There is also the possibility that the Department of Homeland Security would continue to pursue the proposed regulations published earlier this year increasing the amounts of investment and making other potential changes to the program.

The Cozen O’Connor EB-5 team will continue to follow any proposed legislation affecting the EB-5 Regional Center Program in the weeks to come.
