  • District of Columbia – Brian Schwalb, partner-in-charge of the law firm Venable’s D.C. office, has emerged as the winner of the District’s Democratic primary election for AG. In a three-way race, Schwalb beat out attorneys Bruce V. Spiva and Ryan Jones. The race follows an earlier court ruling that another candidate, Kenyan McDuffie, was ineligible to run. We covered that story here.
  • Vermont – More than six months before his term would be up, Vermont AG T.J. Donovan announced he is resigning his post to take a position as director of public policy and U.S. state strategies with an online gaming platform. As we went to press, Governor Phil Scott just announced his appointment of Susanne Young, a former Deputy AG and Secretary of Administration, to serve out the six months remaining in the term until after elections this November.
