Nice try – no breach of contract when employee placed on garden leave

In Faieta v ICAP Management Services Ltd the High Court found that an employer had not acted irrationally by placing an employee on garden leave and was not under a duty to pay him a bonus.

It's not what you say – dismissal not for making protected disclosures

In Parsons v Airplus International Ltd the EAT upheld the tribunal's decision that a Legal and Compliance Officer was not dismissed because she had made protected disclosures, but because there was a "cultural misfit" arising from the employee's approach to her work and her colleagues.
