Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification Expires on October 31, 2022. Employers should continue to use the current Form I-9 after its expiration date of October 31, 2022, until further notice. DHS will publish a Federal Register notice to announce the new version of Form I-9 once it becomes available.
News that the Form I-9 will change comes shortly after DHS invited public comment on a new proposed rule that would provide alternatives to the current requirement that employers physically examine Form I-9 documentation.
