A number of environmental organizations filed suit against the EPA for failure to act on a March 2012 petition related to lead ammunition (Trumpeter Swan Society v. EPA, D.D.C. 6/07/12). The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and asks the court to order the EPA to develop and implement regulations to “adequately protect wildlife, human health, and the environment” from lead ammunition used in hunting and shooting sports.
