On December 17, the Federal Election Commission ("FEC") posted a new "Timely Tip" reminding PAC treasurers that certain limits on contributions, such as those for individuals to candidates, are adjusted every odd-numbered year in accordance with the consumer price index ("CPI"). It remains to be seen whether the FEC will index the limits this upcoming year; we won't know until late January or early February when the Department of Labor publishes its CPI figures. The FEC advises that, until then, donors should not exceed the limits set for the 2011-2012 election cycle. Those limits may be found here.
