On March 30, 2020, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced that it is waiving all safety education and training requirements for the following programs:

  • Drug-Free Safety Program
  • EM Cap Program
  • Grow Ohio
  • Industry-Specific Safety Program
  • One Claim Program
  • Policy Activity Rebate Program

The announcement comes in response to Governor Mike DeWine’s call for state agencies to assist Ohioans and the business community during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Program requirements are waived through June 30, 2020, for private employers and December 31, 2020, for public employers. Additionally, any discounts offered through the above programs will be applied automatically.

Further, the annual report submission deadline for participants in the Drug-Free Safety Program has been extended to June 1, 2020. For more information, visit the BWC’s COVID-19 FAQ page.
