On March 24, 2025, “EDGAR Next”—the updated online platform by which companies and individuals can access and manage their EDGAR accounts—goes live.  Professionals who regularly make EDGAR filings on behalf of companies or individuals, or who expect to do so in the foreseeable future, should become familiar with the requirements of EDGAR Next and the steps necessary to transition to the new EDGAR filing process.  Filers, and those handling their filings, should also coordinate with any service providers and other relevant parties in order to ensure a smooth transition.

Filers who currently use their unique set of EDGAR codes to submit filings will have nine months to “enroll” in EDGAR Next using a streamlined procedure, but after six months these filers will be required to complete the “enrollment” process before they can submit any new filings to EDGAR.  Individuals or companies who do not already have EDGAR codes and who apply for EDGAR access for the first time on or after March 24, or who miss their opportunity to “enroll” in EDGAR Next, must prepare and submit Amended Form ID to obtain EDGAR Next access.

The EDGAR Next transition process will not look the same for any two individuals or companies, but Maynard Nexsen attorneys are ready to support filers of all stripes in the transition to EDGAR Next.  Additional information about this process can be obtained from the SEC’s EDGAR Next web page, and Maynard Nexsen will be glad to provide clients with additional written materials upon request.
