Let us take time this week to thank current members of the military and all veterans for their service in protecting our country and democracy. As the daughter of a veteran, I am profoundly grateful to all of our service members who put their lives and families at risk every day, and those that forged the path before them.

Unfortunately, veterans are targeted by threat actors and are at risk of falling victim to scammers, including stealing their benefits. For all veterans, and veterans’ families and friends, I urge you to review the FTC’s recent post on protecting veterans from scams, and to follow its website over the next few weeks for tips specifically designed to protect veterans. Let’s all do our part to protect service members and veterans; it’s the least we can do for the sacrifices they make (and have made) for us during their service.
