  • 24 Republican AGs, led by Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron, sent a letter to Yelp, Inc. in opposition to the company’s recently announced policy of issuing “Consumer Notices” on the pages of crisis pregnancy centers on Yelp’s website and app, which notify readers that crisis pregnancy centers typically provide limited medical services and may not have licensed medical professionals onsite.
  • According to the letter, the consumer notices are misleading and overbroad because many crisis pregnancy centers provide an abundance of medical services and do have onsite licensed medical professionals. The AGs also argue that Yelp has selectively applied the notices because other reproductive healthcare facilities, including those that offer abortions, may provide limited medical services and may not have licensed medical professionals onsite. The AGs also oppose the recategorization of crisis pregnancy centers to distinguish them from other reproductive healthcare providers, arguing that it could divert women and families from accessing needed medical services provided by the centers.
  • The AGs request that Yelp rescind its policy regarding crisis pregnancy centers, and cease both the consumer notice and recategorization practices.
