On August 5, 2020, the Seminole County Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted to table the public hearing on the Mobility Fee Ordinance to its next regularly-scheduled meeting. If adopted, the new mobility fee program would result in a substantial increase in impact fees for most developments, especially those in rural areas. Several commissioners expressed concerns regarding the Ordinance, including that it did not contain a sufficient economic impact fee statement, unfairly impacted rural property owners, and was inconclusive regarding revenue projections (the mobility fee study claims that the Ordinance will increase annual revenue from $3.1 Million to $7 Million). The Commission was also hesitant to hold the hearing remotely without the opportunity for the public to comment in person.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider the Ordinance again at its next regularly-scheduled meeting on September 2, 2020.
