  • Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that Angela Colmenero will take over for John Scott as interim AG while AG Ken Paxton awaits trial by the Texas Senate, set to begin September 5. As we previously reported, Scott was originally named interim AG following a House vote to impeach AG Ken Paxton in May. Colmenero previously served as Principal Deputy General Counsel to Governor Abbott.
  • York County District Attorney Dave Sunday announced that he is entering the race for Pennsylvania Attorney General. Sunday is the first Republican candidate to enter the race. As we previously reported, Eugene DePasquale and Joe Khan are running as Democrats; Keir Bradford-Grey has also since entered the race as a Democrat.
