HEADLINES
- The House of Representatives is in crisis for a third week, as majority Republicans remain unable to unite behind a nominee to replace ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
- Meanwhile, Washington is watching along with the rest of the world as Israel prepares to invade Gaza, seeking to eliminate Hamas after last week’s terrorist attacks.
- President Joe Biden will host President Charles Michel of the European Council and President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission for the U.S.-EU Summit.
HOUSE
- The House floor schedule is uncertain as Republicans struggle for a path forward, but committees are resuming work this week.
- The Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday on Environmental Protection Agency efforts to limit the use of ethylene oxide to sterilize medical devices.
- Thursday, the Small Business Committee will hold a hearing on Labor Department rulemaking.

SENATE
- The Senate will be in session throughout the week, voting on Biden’s judicial nominees.
- The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow on “Name, Image, and Likeness, and the Future of College Sports.”
- The Foreign Relations Committee is prioritizing Jack Lew’s nomination to be ambassador to Israel, and will hold his nomination hearing Wednesday.

WHITE HOUSE
- Today, Biden is visiting Pueblo, Colorado, to promote his energy agenda.
- The president and first lady on Wednesday will host a reception celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
- Friday, Biden will hold his second U.S.-EU Summit, with Michel and von der Leyen.
