About Lucian Pera:
Lucian is a partner with Adams and Reese in Memphis, Tennessee. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, legal ethics work and media law. A Memphis native, Lucian has practiced law there since 1986. He was the youngest member of the ABA “Ethics 2000” Commission that rewrote the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, and he served recently as chair of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility. He speaks and writes extensively on the ethical and regulatory aspects of the rapidly-changing legal services market, and he is founding chair of the Practising Law Institute’s annual full-day program, “The Ethics of NewLaw.” Lucian served as President of the Tennessee Bar Association and is a past Treasurer of the American Bar Association. Lucian’s extensive bar association work in the law of legal ethics and professional responsibility has resulted in a successful local, state, and national practice and leadership in this emerging field. He represents and advises attorneys, law firms, their clients, and businesses that deal with lawyers about all aspects of the law. Recent assignments have included defense of lawyers in a disciplinary investigation, counseling clients with disciplinary and other claims against lawyers, advising law firms about loss prevention and claims, and defending and prosecuting motions to disqualify lawyers or for sanctions.
