Federal prosecutors filed criminal charges yesterday against two former Goldman Sachs investment bankers for their alleged role in the Malaysian 1MDB scandal – NYTimes and WSJ and Bloomberg and Law360

The U.S., according to an indictment unsealed this week, has accused Chinese-owned firm Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit and its Taiwanese partner United Microelectronics Corp. of “stealing trade secrets from America’s largest memory-chip maker, Micron Technology Inc.” – WSJ and Bloomberg

Deutsche Bank’s National Trust unit is urging SDNY Judge Alison Nathan to affirm her magistrate judge’s decision refusing to allow plaintiff Royal Park Investments to “conduct sampling-related discovery” in its case accusing the bank of falling down on the job as trustee of 10 RMBS trusts – Law360

Thursday saw Google employees around the globe hold a “wave of walkouts” to protest the company’s handling of sexual harassment claims levied against male executives—an issue discussed at length in a Times article last week – NYTimes and WSJ and AP

Subaru and Toyota have issued a global recall affecting more than 400k vehicles, including at least 80k under the Toyota badge, for faulty valve springs – WSJ

A group of Tesla shareholders is pushing Tesla’s board to make broad changes to its own governance procedures and “enhance oversight of Chief Executive Elon Musk.” The called-for would “go beyond” those that the SEC settlement agreement requires – WSJ

Since the holiday shopping season starts the second that the last trick-or-treat is uttered, news of a potential UPS freight worker strike looming next week could have major retail implications.  The freight division—which focuses on shipments of heavier goods and bulk shipments on pallets—is considerably smaller than UPS’s small-package network, but the disruption would still be considerable – WSJ
