The Latest OFCCP News: VEVRAA Coverage, Outreach Poster, and Approaching Deadlines

On July 2, 2015, the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council amended the jurisdictional threshold for coverage under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA). Currently, a contractor with a single contract valued at $100,000 or more annually meets the threshold for the requirement to have a written affirmative action program under VEVRAA. Effective October 1, 2015, the threshold will increase to a single contract valued at $150,000 or more annually. The increase in this threshold is significant because as of October 1, 2015, if a contractor only has contracts individually valued at less than $150,000 annually, that contractor will not be required to prepare a protected veterans’ affirmative action program or list its job openings with the local employment service delivery system.

In other news, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has released a new, voluntary outreach and education poster. The poster aims to increase awareness of the OFCCP’s mission and the importance of diversity, antidiscrimination laws and initiatives, and fair payment practices in the workplaces of federal contractors and subcontractors.

Finally, the deadline for filing a VETS-4212 report is September 30, 2015. The deadline for filing EEO-1 reports has been extended from September 30, 2015 to October 30, 2015. Contractors and subcontractors must submit these reports using data from a payroll period in the third quarter of 2015. The government websites for filing VETS-4212 reports and EEO-1 reports are now open.
