  • The FTC and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) signed an agreement to increase inter-agency cooperation in combatting anticompetitive behavior and unfair and deceptive acts and practices that harm workers.
  • The agreement strengthens the agencies’ partnership in areas of mutual interest including worker misclassification, illegal claims and disclosures about earnings and costs associated with work, the imposition of noncompete and nondisclosure provisions, labor market concentration, and the impact of algorithmic decision-making on workers.
  • The agreement allows the agencies to collaborate by sharing information, conducting training for staff of both agencies, and partnering on investigative efforts, among other things.
