In June 2023, the ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States regarding affirmative action in higher education admissions sparked a surge in companies seeking clarity on diversity practices in the workplace. As the legal landscape incorporates the Court's decision across various contexts, employers must remain focused on presenting, engaging, directing, and advocating for employment opportunities in a fair and just manner. Echoing these sentiments, Charlotte Burrows, Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), issued a statement emphasizing that employer diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) programs that foster inclusive environments and nurture diverse talent were not included or affected by the Court's decision.
