In a Public Engagement Announcement posted last week, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced expansions of its existing online filing capabilities. Specifically, starting in February 2024, USCIS will launch online organizational accounts and will make I-129 H-1B petitions for nonimmigrant workers and associated I-907 requests for premium processing available for online filing.

USCIS first introduced online filing in 2015 with Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card and has slowly added approximately 15 additional forms over the last nine years. USCIS implemented an online registration process for H-1B petitions subject to the annual cap in 2020. The launch of online filing for I-129 H-1B petitions will be the first time online filing will be made available for employment based petitions.
