Join Bricker Graydon attorneys Kylie Stryffeler, Jessica Galanos, and Erin Butcher as they delve into the important subject of pregnancy and parenting on college campuses. They will discuss pregnancy and parenting compliance issues in the context of students, employees, and student-employees, and identify best practices and common pitfalls in this space. Attendees will leave with valuable, practical tips on how to address these key issues within their institution.

Session 1: Pregnant and Parenting Employee & Student-Employee Accommodations
Wednesday, January 17, 2024

Institutions of higher education must comply with federal laws regarding pregnant and parenting employees. In this session we will explore the current legislative and regulatory framework regarding accommodating pregnant employees, as well as dive into issues related to student-employees.

Session 2: Pregnant and Parenting Student Accommodations
Thursday, January 18, 2024

The Title IX regulations and guidance provide significant protections to pregnant and parenting applicants and students. While we expect some additional protections with the proposed Title IX regulations, this session will cover your current institutional obligations to pregnant and parenting students, as imposed by a patchwork of state and federal laws. Is your campus complying with the current legal standards and expectations? Attendees will learn how to assess requests for pregnancy and parenting “accommodations” in academics, athletics, housing, and lab settings.

Attendance at these trainings is limited to employees of higher education institutions and other individuals who provide services to those institutions. Individuals who are unaffiliated with an institution will not be permitted to attend without prior approval. Contact Kayla Entsminger at kentsminger@brickergraydon.com for additional information or to edit an existing registration.
