October 22nd, 2020
3:30 PM - 5:30 PM PT
The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) went into effect on January 1, 2020, and while the CCPA does not expressly require compliance by nonprofits, nonprofits should be aware of some obligations when it comes to data privacy. Data privacy laws are becoming more prevalent and the CCPA has set a new standard for handling consumer data such as donors information and other personal details. Nonprofits that take a proactive approach to implementing best practices now will position themselves well for the future. Join our webinar as we discuss:
- Bases for applicability of CCPA to nonprofits
- Key CCPA provisions and requirements
- Risks associated with noncompliance
- Litigation to date
- Expected litigation claims and strategies
