The U.S. Labor Department has published the 2016 wage-rate floor required by President Obama's "Establishing A Minimum Wage for Contractors" Executive Order 13658. The Order has been implemented through regulations appearing at 29 C.F.R. Part 10. Both the Order and 29 C.F.R. § 10.5 call for USDOL to conduct annual re-determinations of that minimum wage.

Beginning on January 1, 2016, the minimum rate will be $10.15 per hour.

At the same time, USDOL announced that the 2016 minimum cash wage for tipped workers performing on or in connection with a covered contract will increase by 95 cents per hour, that is, to $5.85 per hour. This too takes effect beginning on January 1, 2016.

USDOL has revised its required poster to reflect these figures.
