The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently announced that it is extending the deadline for employers to file their annual EEO-1 report from March 31 to May 31. Due to the recent government shutdown, the EEOC’s EEO-1 survey website will not be open until early March, although the exact date is still uncertain. All private employers with 100 or more employees, as well as certain smaller federal contractors are required to file the EEO-1 on an annual basis. The form provides the EEOC with information regarding the demographics of such employers’ workforces.
