In the round – correct approach to justifying requirement for Saturday working

In an indirect religious discrimination claim, a tribunal was wrong to focus on the impact on the employee of a requirement for Saturday working, instead of having regard to the business need for it, according to the EAT in The City of Oxford Bus Services Ltd t/a Oxford Bus Company v Harvey.
 
 
 
BEIS Select Committee report on executive pay
 
The BEIS Select Committee has issued a report on executive pay "Executive rewards: paying for success". Although the 2014 "say on pay" reforms have had some impact, the report concludes that more should be done to address the gap between chief executive and employee pay.
