The EEOC has issued proposed regulations interpreting the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) that is scheduled to be effective November 21, 2009, for employers with 15 or more employees. The proposed regulations attempt to clarify the definition of genetic information, provide guidance on the limitations on acquisition of genetic information and discuss how to limit disclosure of acquired genetic information.
