The South Carolina Human Affairs Commission (SCHAC) has released its new workplace poster, revised to reflect certain changes required by the recently enacted South Carolina Pregnancy Accommodations Act.

The Act prohibits employers from discriminating against an employee on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.  The Act also requires employers to notify employees of their right to be free from this form of discrimination.

Employers must provide this notice to all new employees at the commencement of employment, and to existing employees via conspicuous posting.  The deadline for compliance with the Act’s notice requirements is no later than September 14, 2018.

For more information on the Pregnancy Accommodations Act, see related article.
