As previously reported by the Fast Laner, the EEOC announced that it would collect EEO-1 Component 2 data (“Component 2 data”) beyond the September 30, 2019 deadline.  On October 29, 2019, the district court overseeing the collection of Component 2 data ordered that the EEOC continue to collect Component 2 data through January 31, 2020 or until the EEOC achieves a 98.25% response rate.

Based on the court’s ruling, the Component 2 website was updated to state, in relevant part, that “until further notice, the data collection will remain open past November 11, 2019. Employers who have not yet filed should do so as soon as possible.”

Therefore, EEO-1 covered employers should continue to submit and certify their Component 2 EEO-1 reports for 2017 and 2018 as soon as possible.
