March 6th, 2024
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET

Building a team of reliable and professional Title IX advisors is crucial to conducting fair Title IX investigations. However, universities often struggle with limited staff and faculty when creating sustainable advisor teams. In this webinar, Ashling Ehrhardt and Sydney Smith Forquer of Cohen Seglias and Allison Wisniewski of Rutgers University-Camden will share how to select, train and keep advisors, including who universities should choose to serve as advisors, how many they should have, and when they should outsource the advisor role to an attorney.

The presenters will also cover what an advisor’s role entails, including:

  • Reviewing the policies and procedures
  • Meeting with the party
  • Establishing appropriate boundaries
  • Attending meetings and the interview
  • Reviewing summaries of statements and draft/final investigation reports
  • Hearing tips, especially for cross-examination
