Equal pay and EEO-1 reports made headlines last Friday as the EEOC and the White House celebrated the 7th anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Act.  The EEOC announced a proposed new requirement for federal contractors and employers with more than 100 employees, who will have to provide compensation information on their annual EEO-1 form beginning in September 2017 if the proposal is approved by the federal Office of Management and Budget. The inclusion of wage information in the EEO-1 is intended to give the EEOC and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs information about wage disparities within organizations and across industries.  EEOC Commissioner Yang commented that the data will “help employers evaluate their own pay practices[.]”
