Join us for an illuminating webinar as we unveil the findings from a groundbreaking Diversity survey conducted in collaboration between Leopard Solutions and Above the Law. This survey, unlike any other to date, focused exclusively on gathering input from gender and ethnically diverse attorneys at law firms, utilizing Leopard Solutions’ sophisticated tools to pinpoint our target audience accurately. It sought to discover the experiences of these associates at Big Law and how they could have a more significant impact on the industry.

Participants of the survey were predominantly female (59%) and male (39%), with diverse age ranges, primarily falling within the 25-34 bracket (44%), followed by 35-44 (32%) and 45-54 (16%), while nine percent were aged 55 and over. In terms of ethnic representation, respondents identified as Black or African American (31%), Asian or Asian American (29%), Hispanic or Latino/Latinx (17%), and eight percent were of two or more races. Additionally, the survey revealed that seventy-eight percent of participants were or had been affiliated with Am Law 200 firms, with 60% serving as associates (21% of which were senior level), 29% as partners (15% equity, 14% non-equity), and six percent as Of Counsel.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Individual Perspectives on Diversity: Gain valuable insights into the experiences and challenges faced by diverse attorneys in the legal profession as we delve into the survey's findings at the individual level.
  2. Diversity Initiatives in Top Law Firms: Explore the state of diversity initiatives within the top 200 law firms by gross revenue, as uncovered by our survey. Discover what initiatives are in place and where there is room for improvement.
  3. Beyond Lip Service: Addressing "Window Dressing": Understand the phenomenon of "window dressing" in law firms, where diversity efforts may appear superficial. Learn how firms can move beyond rhetoric to implement meaningful operational policies that promote genuine diversity and inclusion.
