The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act (DREAM Act) is a proposed piece of United States federal legislation. It was first proposed in 2001 by Senators Orrin Hatch and Dick Durbin. The DREAM Act would create conditional permanent residency for some undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children and who meet certain educational or military service requirements.
