The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) is a proposed United States federal statute that aims to promote internet security and combat cyber threats by facilitating information sharing between the U.S. government and certain segments of the technology and manufacturing sectors. CISPA, like its predecessors PIPA and SOPA, has incited considerable controversy and criticism from privacy advocates who feel that the bill compromises the integrity of longstanding privacy protections and promotes inappropriate encroachments on citizens' civil liberties.  less -
